It is with great pleasure that I announce the upcoming twelfth edition of the Scientific and Technical Days (JST 12) of SONATRACH, which will take place from June 23 to 25, 2025.
Under the theme:
"The Energy of Technological Innovation"
This edition aims to be a premier meeting dedicated to exploring strategic challenges and collective reflection on energy issues and innovative solutions that will shape the future of our sector in the region.
The JST 12 gives us the opportunity to combine expertise, knowledge, and know-how to explore three strategic themes for our industry:
- Exploration and production (Oil & Gas) , integrating technological advancements in the field of oil and gas exploration and enhanced recovery in various types of reservoirs.
- The environment and sustainable development , key pillars of the global energy transition.
- Digital transformation , a crucial lever to boost performance and foster innovation.

Homage to Abdelhak BOUHAFS
Paying tribute to a legacy of excellence, dedication, and inspiration
On October 29, 2019, we lost the late Abdelhak BOUHAFS, former President-Director General of SONATRACH, who led the company from 1989 to 1995 and again from 2000 to 2001. His visionary leadership had a profound impact on SONATRACH, particularly through the launch of the PROMOS project, which modernized our management processes. The late Abdelhak BOUHAFS also initiated the Scientific and Technical Days (JST) in 1994, creating an international platform for exchange between professionals and researchers, fostering the sharing of essential knowledge related to our activities.
